The members of the Advisory Group of Forest Experts from Europe, during
the meeting of 2 August 2012, in Iasi, decided the following:
1. It was approved the Rules of Organization and Functioning of the Advisory
Group of Forest Experts from Europe with art. 7 changed as it follows:
Art. 7. The Advisory Group of Forest Experts from Europe elects a president and two
Vice-Presidents every 2 years, confirmed by the C.E.F. Board. The election of the
president and of the two vice-presidents shall be conducted separately for each of
them as follows: (a) in the first ballot, with a two thirds majority of the present
experts, (b) in the subsequent ballots, with a simple majority of the present experts.
In case of a tie of the votes for the election of the president, the C.E.F. Board ensures
temporarily the Presidency. The Vice-presidents shall be elected from the
representatives of other socio-economic categories than that represented by the
President, subject to exemptions granted by the C.E.F. Board. The Advisory Group of
Forest Experts from Europe appoints three delegates experts and six deputy
delegates experts of the members, who will attend the meetings of the advisory
groups from the European Commission and the Council of Europe. The elected
deputy delegates experts replace the elected delegates experts at the meetings of
the advisory groups if the elected delegates experts do not attend them.
2. It was approved the list of the members of the Advisory Group of Forest
Experts from Europe;
3. There were elected, according to the provisions of the Rules of
Organization and Functioning of the Advisory Group of Forest Experts
from Europe:
President of the Advisory Group of Forest Experts from Europe: Marian Stoicescu
Vice-presidents of the Advisory Group of Forest Experts from Europe: Aynur
Coskun, Janos Halmagyi.
There were designated three delegates experts and six deputy delegates experts
to participate in the meetings of the advisory groups from the European
Commission and the Council of Europe. The elected deputy delegates experts
replace the elected delegates experts at the meetings of the advisory groups if the
elected delegates experts do not attend them.

Dumitru Galupa;4. There were established the objectives of the Strategy of the Advisory
Group of Forest Experts from Europe:
- promoting the application of sustainable forest management in all
European countries;
- recognition and use of the professional role of the foresters and foresters’
organizations to develop and apply forest strategies and policies at national and
each European country level;
- further support of the initiative for establishment of a forest authority at
the European Commission level which could formally elaborate forest policies and
forest strategies in the European Union and could participate in the meetings of the
Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forest in Europe (Forest Europe).
5. It was established the Action program of the Advisory Group of Forest
Experts from Europe:
- To initiate steps and to insist for recognition of the Advisory Group of
Forest Experts from Europe by the European Commission through completing
the Annex I to Decision 2004 / 391;
- To initiate steps for registration the Advisory Group of Forest Experts
from Europe in the Transparency Register of the European Commission;
- To initiate steps for registration the Advisory Group of Forest Experts
from Europe in the Conference of International Non-Governmental Organizations
of the Council of Europe;
- To initiate steps as the Advisory Group of Forest Experts from Europe to
participate, with an observer status, at the meetings of the Ministerial Conference
on the Protection of Forests in Europe, Expert Level Meetings and to participate
at Round Table Meetings and Working Groups, seminars and workshops within
the Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe (FOREST
EUROPE);
- To organize formal and informal meetings with representatives of the
European Commission in Brussels, with representatives of the Council of Europe
in Strasbourg, with representatives of the FOREST EUROPE structures in Madrid
and, in order to establish the strategies and action programs of the group, at the
headquarters of the organizations whose representatives are members of the
Advisory Group of Forest Experts from Europe.
6. It was approved the logo which will be use by the Advisory Group of
Forest Experts from Europe, with the mention that the Advisory Group of Forest
Experts from Europe is a part of the Council of European Foresters.
