Resolution of the C.E.F. Board meeting of 2 August 2012

At the meeting of the C.E.F. Board of 2 August 2012, there were decided the

following:

1. It was approved the Agenda of the C.E.F. Board meeting of 2 August 2012;

2. It was approved the information presented by the C.E.F. President, Mr.

Marian Stoicescu, on the C.E.F. activity from 25 August 2011 to 2 August 2012;

3. It was designated the list of the C.E.F.

’s presidents, according to art. 6 of the

C.E.F. Statute:

4. There were established the objectives of the C.E.F. strategy for the period 25

August 2012 - 2 August 2014 based on the strategy proposals presented during the

Workshop by Mr. Ali Kucukaydin, Mr. Janos Halmagyi and Mr. Marian Stoicescu. The

objectives of the C.E.F. Strategy for the period 25 August 2012 - 25 August 2014 are:

- promoting the application of sustainable forest management in all European

countries;

- recognition and use of the professional role of the foresters and foresters’

organizations to develop and apply forest strategies and policy at national and each

European country level;

- further support of the initiative for establishment of a forest authority at the

European Commission level which could formally elaborate forest policies and forest

strategies in the European Union and could participate in the meetings of the

Ministerial Conference for the Protection of Forest in Europe (Forest Europe).

- further support of the activity of the Advisory Group of Forest Experts from

Europe.5. The C.E.F. action program for the period 25 August 2012 - 25 August 2014

is the following:

-to establish a meeting during October 2012 - February 2013 in Antalya, Turkey,

on “Preparing the C.E.F. participation in the UNFF10”

;

- to prepare some C.E.F. documents to be presented at the UNFF10 meeting and

to develop some brochures, information materials, etc. about the C.E.F. and , about the

C.E.F. proposals on forestry strategy to be presented during the UNFF10 meeting;

- to address a request to the UNFF10 Bureau and to the Secretariat General of

the UNFF as “The Forester’s Declaration” to be adopted as an official document of the

UNFF10;

- to participate in the UNFF10 meeting in Turkey;

- meetings with representatives of European Union institutions in Brussels and

of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg;

- absorption of the EU funds to support experience exchanges between foresters;

- to launch some trekking programs or experience exchanges between foresters, where

to be involved also the foresters’ families;

- to participate in international professional, scientific, cultural and sportive

events of the foresters;

- meeting of the C.E.F. Board and the Advisory Group of Forest Experts from

Europe in January 2014, in Hungary.

This program can be completed at the initiative of the C.E.F. Board members.

6. It was approved the management of the Advisory Group of Forest Experts

from Europe and the List of delegates experts and delegates deputy experts elected

by the Advisory Group of Forest Experts from Europe to participate in the meetings

of the advisory groups from the European Commission and the Council of Europe.

The delegates deputy experts replace the delegates experts at the meetings of the

advisory groups if the delegates experts do not attend them. It was also approved

the logo which will be use by the Advisory Group of Forest Experts from Europe,

with the mention that the Advisory Group of Forest Experts from Europe is a part of

the Council of European Foresters.

7. It was approved that the following Conclusions of the International

Symposium on “Effects of the events dedicated to year 2011 - International Year of

the Forests. Developing proposals for forestry activities and events to be presented

at the UNFF10 meeting in Turkey”

, organised in Iasi on 2 August 2012, where there

were presented materials of the C.E.F. members from Bosnia – Herzegovina,

Hungary, Moldova Republic, Romania and Turkey, to be sent to the UNFF10:

- the role, activity, expertise and the proposals of the foresters, regional, nationalor international foresters’ organizations in forestry sector must be taken into account

when developing forestry strategies and policies at national and international level to

ensure sustainable forest management of all forests;

- national and international institutions and authorities will work to be ensured

a sustainable forest management of all forests in order to stop and eliminate damage

to forests;

- forestry and forest sector, through sustainable forest management can provide

jobs for all socio-economic categories who work in this area, helping to eradicate

poverty population in this area.

- education and forestry research must be strengthened at national level as tools

that contribute decisively to the future of forests, of life and of human population.

- the

role, importance and functions of the forest will be taken into account by all factors

involved in maintaining life on Earth and also by regular appointment by the United

Nations of the International Year of Forests.

8. Between 25 August 2012 - 25 August 2013, the C.E.F. President will be Mr.

Ali Kucukaydin, President of the Turkish Chamber of Forest Engineers, who will take

over all the correspondence from the C.E.F.

’s members, from the European

institutions (EU, Council of Europe, and Ministerial Conference on the Protection of

Forests in Europe) and United Nations institutions, addressed to the C.E.F.

For correspondence with the C.E.F. there will be used the following e-mail

addresses: councilofeuropeanforesters@gmail.com , akucukaydin@gmail.com or

duzgunmevlut@gmail.com.

According to the agreement between the representatives of the Turkish

Chamber of Forest Engineers and Consilva Confederation from Romania, Consilva

will continue to ensure the functioning of the C.E.F. website.
